Watchful Eyes
Decades ago, society saw and feared the erosion of privacy. Yet today, we humans just shrug our shoulders, accept the condition and move on with life. The common TV, GPS, PHONE, COMPUTER, CREDIT CARD, TRAFFIC LIGHT CAMERA, HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE, and more…….….track our conversations and correspondence, report on our travels, and how we buy, eat, sleep, and purchase. What’s next? Well, don’t say ‘mind reading’, because that’s not next. It’s here! Shucks, I just wanted the flying automobile or jetpack to be a transportation option in my lifetime. Doubtful………but maybe ‘beam me up’ may happen this century.
For this song, I was intentionally looking to create an angry and somewhat resentful mood with a powerful guitar riff to set up the message. That’s as much growl I could muster vocally at an 11:00 AM recording session at Red Amp. Next time we growl…………11:00 PM works better, Jody.
Thanks to Marna Bales and Allen Brown for vocal harmonies. John McNeil offers his usual tasteful guitar solo, and Jody brings it alive with his drum kit and his guitar prowess. Audie Stanley drives it on bass!
