The Wind Blows By

We all need to call time-out in life, exit the grid, find a place to chill, and do just that with the ones you love.  The options are stated early in the song….a bay, Arizona, camping, Vegas…..…and all are good choices, but if seclusion and the wind is an element of this chill routine, it has to be the beach.

Musically speaking, the inspiration for this goes back to One on One by Hall & Oates.   It was a bold move back then in a musical ‘purist’ world to blatantly set up a song with an entry level drum machine.  It’s that droning sequence that sets up the elements of the ocean and wind.  I was looking to create a keyboard / piano menagerie by using a Wurlitzer sound combined with a regular studio grand piano.

Harmonies and background vocals are by Allen Brown and Marna Bales.
